"Nothing will ever be the same again."
Lady of the manor Diana Wentworth (Valerie Hobson), is led to believe that her husband Michael (Michael Redgrave), a secret agent, has been killed in action. She adapts well to the situation and even finds love with local farmer Richard (James McKechnie). But then her husband returns from the dead believing things would be exactly as they were before the war. Only to find his wife an independent career woman.
A touchingly upper class view on love and the sacrifices of war. In other words it does not live in the real world for the vast majority of the very people it expected to watch this. A drama that did not reflect true life even then, and certainly hasn't aged well.
