battleground (2012)

aka Skeleton Lake.
"Grown men crying like babies."
Following a bank robbery that goes wrong, the gang flee into a forest. But unfortunately for them a ex Vietnam vet who lives there has taken against them.
Southern Comfort meets Predator, without the money, talent or ambition.

girls come first (1975)

"Would you believe it, that girl sends money home to her mother every week."
Artist Alan Street (John Hamill) is given the job of painting some glamour magazine's models, and also act as barman in a Soho nightclub. Alan finds his new jobs perfectly entertaining, as he gets to know the hostesses and models, but unfortunately his girlfriend (Sue Longhurst) is less enamored.
This supposed comedy, was by all accounts seen as a short B-feature in the UK, whilst a full length continental hardcore version played overseas.

the love box (1972)

aka Lovebox.
"I prefer others forms of indoor sports."
the love box is a personnal ads section of a magazine, and asks as a starting point for a number of stories about the people taking out the ads.
Neither comic, sexy or dramatic,

fiona (1977)

aka Hardcore. Frankly Fiona.
"Try me."
Fiona Richmond plays herself in a fictionalised account of her life and how she became a British sex symbol.
Frankly disappointing, lacking comedy, or any eroticism, despite the copious sexual coupling going on!

spaced out (1979)

aka Outer Touch. Outer Reach.
"The one's with the flat chests have these strange appendiges."
Oli (Barry Stokes) is amongst three men, and a woman (Lynne Ross), who are abducted by three female aliens, (women with sequined eyebrows). They then set about finding all about the earthlings, and knowing nothing about males, are especially interested in their sexual interests!
Cheap exploitation flick, enlivened by some sarcastic wit.

they called him amen (1972)

aka Man Called Amen. Così sia. Therefore It Is.
"Ma read lots of classics, it's Hamlet's friend."
Amen (Luc Merenda) rides into town on a donkey. He's looking for Smith (Alfio Caltabiano), a blacksmith and preacher, and wants to know where his money is...but soon becomes infatuated with the local school teacher (Sydne Rome).
Quirky comic western,

clownhoue (1989)

"How could something so awful be so near?"
Casey (Nathan Forrest Winters) is scared of clowns, and soon finds out he has reason to be.
Nothing much to see here that you've not seen before, apart from an early appearance of Sam Rockwell.

the devil's nightmare (1971)

aka La plus longue nuit du diable. Castle of Death. Nightmare of Terror. Succubus. The Devil Walks at Midnight. The Devil's Longest Night. Vampire Playgirls.
"Looks like she saw something that terrified her."
During WWII, a German army officer awaits the birth of his child, and upon finding out it is a girl, promptly kills it. Fast forward to the present day and seven tourists are forced to stay at the same ancient German castle. As they settle in for the night, Lisa Miller (Erika Blanc) turns up begging to stay, and is soon entising the the guests to their doom.
Standard 70's euro-horror, but one with a bit of atmosphere to keep you watching.

man with the golden winchester (1973)

aka The Son Of Zorro. Il figlio di Zorro.
"...to the revolution and the freedom of Mexico."
Zorro (Alberto Dell'Acqua) aids an American gun-runner (William Berger) who is supplying arms to the Mexican revolutionaries who are trying to overthrow Emperor Maximilian.
Run of the mill re-tread of the Zorro story, with a hero prettier than the heroine!

the lamp (1987)

aka The Outing.
"I wish you were dead!"
The lamp is home to a genie, who is released when thieves do a bit of house breaking, and live to regret it, but not for long! The lamp is then sent to a museum to be studied, only for the genie to then possess the curator's daughter, who goes on a killing spree.
An interesting twist is rendered as a run of the mill slasher.

she devils of the ss (1973)

aka Eine Armee Gretchen. SS Cutthroats. Fraulein Without a Uniform. The Cutthroats. Fräuleins in Uniforms.
"It's a privilege to serve."
The war is going badly for the Germans and young women are volunteering for service, with many ending up doing to on their backs !
A sex comedy, where the women love their job, and the men love Hitler! It doesn't work on any level, other than one bound to cause offense!

damnation alley (1977)

"Damnation Alley, on route to Albany."
Tanner (Jan-Michael Vincent), Keegan (Paul Winfield) and Denton (George Peppard) are officers in a missile base, who witness and take part in launching nuclear strikes. This leads to the inevitable post-apocalyptic world, which they have to survive.
A clunky road movie, that doesn't have the budget to match its vision.

hitler's last train (1977)

aka Helltrain. Captive Women 5: Mistresses of the 3rd Reich. Love Train for the SS. Special Train for Hitler.
"I am the mistress of some of the leading figures of the Reich."
The SS come up with the ultimate form of morale boosting; a train full of women, putting nightclub singer Ingrid Schüler (Monica Swinn) in charge, and tasks her with stocking it with some high class Aryan daughters willing to serve Hitler's officers in the field.
A cut price Ilsa.

the horrible house on the hill (1974)

aka Devil Times Five. Peopletoys.
"Didn't you ever play soldier when you where a boy?"
Five children are stranded whilst on a school trip, and are taken in by a group of adults on a winter holiday. Unfortunately what they don't know is that the kids are disturbed, sociopathic killers...
Comes over as a TV movie at times, but develops into a quirky little horror.

code 7, victim 5 (1964)

aka Victim Five. Table Bay.
"Anything wrong?"
Steve Martin (Lex Barker) is an American Private Investigator who is hired by a South African millionaire to solve a murder, which inevitably opens up a web of conspiracy.
Mainly of interest as it was shot by Nicholas Roeg, who went onto bigger and better things.

enter the devil (1972)

aka Disciples of Death.
"The day that my wife convinced me to move down to this hell hole, is the day I should have been put out of my misery."
Leslie (Irene Kelly) is an occult researcher who is brought down to a remote South-Western desert location, when a local doctor suspects that hunters have been murdered, rather than the accidents that they initially seem. Also suspicious is local sheriff Glenn (Joshua Bryant). Has a cult established itself there and are responsible?
A low budget film, that proves to be gritty, atmospheric, and effective.

stateline motel (1973)

aka L'ultima chance.
"Calm down, it's not the end of the world."
American Floyd (Fabio Testi), is traveling back across the Canadian boarder to the USA, after having undertaken a heist with Joe (Eli Wallach). Unfortunately Floyd manages to crash his car and is stuck in a small town motel unable to meet up with Joe, who suspects Floyd is running with the jewels. Further complicating things is the motel owners wife Michelle (Ursula Andress), who starts to suspect that Floyd hiding something.
Slight story, but one with a twist, but even so, its not one that you will want to wait around for.

the manipulator (1971)

aka B.J. Lang Presents. B.J. Presents.
"Green being the strongest colour of all, being the colour of earth..."
Hollywood makeup man B. J. Lang (Mickey Rooney), is making a film of Cyrano De Bergerac. Unfortunately he's a psychopath, and his main actress is Carlotta (Luana Anders), who he has kidnapped and is forcing to her to play Roxanne.
With a slim plot, this soon becomes an endurance test of hypnotic nightmarish effects and rants.

reet petite, and gone (1947)

"What do you do, sing?"
Schyler Jarvis (Louis Jordan), a famous musical star is dying, but tries to ensure the future for his son, bandleader Louis Jarvis (Louis again), and Honey Carter (Bea Griffith), daughter of his long-lost love. Unfortunately Henry Talbot (Lorenzo Tucker), a dodgy lawyer, also has an eye for the money.
Showcase for Louis Jordan's swing band with the faint trace of a plot.

sex madness (1938)

aka Human Wreakage. Human Wreckage: They Must Be Told.
"What's she got that I haven't got?"
Reformer Paul Lorenz (Charles Olcott) is trying to fight against a tidal wave of immoral behavior, that threatens to destroy relationships and unleash STD's across the nation. Into this pit of carnality is thrown, Millicent Hamilton (Vivian McGill), an innocent from a small town, who has unfortunately contracted syphilis, which might put an end to her dream of marrying her boyfriend Wendel Hope (Mark Daniels), but hope comes from her doctor who tells her its a long hard road, and not to trust in quick fixes...
Classic exploitation fodder, a great title lures a crowd crying out for some titillation under the guise of a moralistic tale.

casbah (1948)

"You know what I would give to live outside the Casbah, like you do?"
Pepe (Tony Martin) is a thief, living in an Algiers Casbah, and out of reach of the law. Unfortunately he becomes obsessed with Gaby (Märta Torén), a French tourist, much to the annoyance of Inez (Yvonne De Carlo), his girlfriend. Worse, when Detective Slimane (Peter Lorre) learns of Pepe's infatuation with Gaby, he hatches a plan to lure Pepe out of the Casbah, and into his clutches.
Life, love, treachery, all is here, oh and some musical numbers to slow the pace down, and get in the way of the drama.

in the west there was a man named invincible (1973)

aka Once Upon a Time in the West There was a Man Named Invincible. Tricky Dicky. The Man Called Invincible. They Called Him the Player with the Dead.
"He's one of us you know, like the sheriff!"
The newly installed sheriff (Cris Huerta) of Applepie City has trouble with gunfighter Tricky Dicky (George Hilton), who follows him from town to town. To the sheriff's annoyance he and Dicky are hired to deliver a million dollars in gold to Dallas, and Tricky hits on the idea of disguising themselves as a traveling medicine show. Unfortunately someone has duped them and set them up for a fall, but who?
Entertaining buddy comedy, of the slapstick variety, that has a bizarre obsession with homosexuality.

the demon (1963)

aka Il Demonio.
"I am damned, damned."
A young woman, Purif (Daliah Lavi) is considered to be a witch, by the whole Italian village, and her obsession with a married man sends her into a downward spiral. Soon the villagers are taking extreme measures to rid themselves of this demon.
A gothic masterpiece.
