thriller: a cruel picture (1973)

Madeline (Christina Lindberg), a young mute woman, living in rural Sweden, misses her bus, and innocently accepts a lift from Tony (Heinz Hopf), who kidnaps her, forcing her into a drug habit, then blinds her in one eye, and forces her into prostitution. But unknown to him, in her downtime, she is learning karate and shooting, life skills that come in handy when she eventually takes revenge.
Lindberg exhibits a fragility, that turns feral after her abuse, allowing this slight and unevenly paced film some life. And whatever your thoughts on the film, she looks mighty cool in her leather coat and eye patch.

ilsa, the wicked warden (1977)

aka Greta - Haus ohne Männer. Ilsa: Absolute Power. Greta the Torturer. Greta, the Mad Butcher. Greta, the Sadist.
"No patient has ever left the clinic alive."
Ilsa (Dyanne Thorne) now runs a mental clinic with her unique brand of discipline. Trouble brews when a woman escapes, but dies of her wounds. Her sister deliberately gets herself sent to the hospital in an attempt to find out what happened. She soon finds out that Ilsa has a sideline making porn films using the inmates.
Features the usual Ilsa array of sexual torture techniques, nudity and domination, that saturated her previous appearances, but the shock value has deminished by this installment.

child bride (1938)

"We're the law in these here mountains."
Child Bride claimed to be an expose of the lack of laws banning child marriage in many US states at the time. A claim undermined by a gratuitous nude scene featuring a 12 year old actress. The plot revolves around school teacher Miss Carol (Diana Durrell) and her determination to stop the practice of child marriage. It's padded out with some feuding over stills, especially with bad 'un Jake Bolby (Warner Richmond), and his pursuit of the underage Jennie Colton (Shirley Mills).
Not a bad film as such, its made well enough, but one that shamelessly uses all the hillbilly cliche's it can along the way.
