the adventures of hercules II (1985)

aka Le avventure dell'incredibile Ercole. Hercules II.
"Great deeds make us immortal."
Hercules (Lou Ferrigno) is sent to earth to retrieve the Seven Thunderbolts of Zeus, which have been stolen by some renegade gods. Hercules hooks up with a couple of fiesty types (Milly Carlucci & Sonia Viviani), and they undertake to save the earth.
Cozzi adds some cheesey Sci-fi special effects to the mythical story, with dashes of Clash of the Titans, Star Wars and many other popular films of the previous ten years. Episodic, but not in a good way.

vampire in venice (1988)

aka Nosferatu in Venice
"It's bad luck to kill a bat."
A vampire hunter (Christopher Plummer) arrives in Venice on the hunt for Nosferatu (Klaus Kinski)) during Carnival season. He stays with an old family and is helped in the hunt by their family priest (Donald Pleasence).
Atmospheric film that makes great use of its location, using the unease that pervades the city to full effect, creating a creepy vampire chiller, though it does drag due to its pacing.

starcrash (1978)

aka Female Space Invaders. The Adventures of Stella Star.
"Circuits don't fail me now!"
Whilst on the run from the imperial police two smugglers (Marjoe Gortner and Caroline Munro) pick up a castaway. He is the only survivor from a mission to destroy the evil Count zartham's latest superweapon. The smugglers are soon recruited to complete the mission, and also rescue the Emperor's son. A normal days work for your friendly space smuggler.
A cheap but fun rip off of Star Wars meets Buck Rogers, if produced using Ray Harryhausen as special effects consultant. And being Italian it features rather more scantily clad women, especially Caroline Munro, who spends much of the film in the most essential of space clothing, black leather bikini and thigh boots!

alien contamination (1980)

AKA Contamination. Toxic Spawn.
"This is just so we understand each other."
A ship floats into New York Harbour with only the mutilated body parts of its crew aboard and the hold full of green pulsating eggs. When examined the eggs explode splattering all with a green corrosive acid that kills. Where did the ship and the eggs come from? Commander Stella Holmes (Louise Marleau) is tasked with finding out and first hunts out Commander Ian Hubbard (Ian McCulloch), an astronaut who was disbelieved when he talked of green eggs after his mission to Mars.
An earthbound version or should I say clone of Alien, complete with chest burster. Done bigger and better the first time!
