the four skulls of Jonathan drake (1959)

"Kenneth Drake you have paid for the evil of your ancestors."
Anthropologist Jonathan Drake (Eduard Franz) believes that his family has been cursed by a tribe of South American Indians. A theory reinforced when Drake's brother is found dead, a shrunken head hanging near the body!
An entertaining and in turns creepy shocker despite its budgetary limitations.

guns, girls and gangsters (1959)

"She may not be bult in, but she's sure built."
Chuck Wheeler (Gerald Mohr) is an ex-con planning to heist an armored car. Included in his plans are shady club owner Joe Darren (Grant Richards) and his lounge singer girlfriend, Vi (Mamie Van Doren). Unfortunatelty Vi's husband (Lee Van Cleef) is a trigger happy con, who breaks out of jail, and is likely to cause trouble!
The script keeps a fast pace helped along by Mamie's two show numbers in this slick noirish drama.

curse of the faceless man (1958)

"It isn't possible, it has no face, no eyes, yet it knows where to go."
A couple of archaeologists uncover a body preserved in volcanic ash at a dig in Pompeii. Dr. Paul Mallon (Richard Anderson) is brought in to examine the body, but before he can it starts on a killing spree. Will Mallon figure out who is behind the murders and find out a way to stop it?
Mildly diverting small time reversioning of the mummy story.

dragstrip girl (1957)

"Serious is the last thing I want to be. That sort of drag comes soon enough."
New girl in town Louise (Fay Spain) proves too hot to handle for local hotrodder's Jim (Steven Terrell) and Fred (John Ashley), with her hopped up set of wheels and curves to die for.
AIP send us a exploitation flick about hotrodding and drag racing, and an entertaining one at that.

the she creature (1956)

"I hate this place, I hate the sound of the ocean, and I hate you!"
Dr Lombardi (Chester Morris) is a carnival showman, who has a 300 year old woman (Marla English) hypnotised as part of his sideshow. When two people are found murdered local Dr Erickson (Lance Fuller) places Lombardi in the vacinity. Lombardi had prophecied that a prehistoric sea creature would attack that night. Could it be that the creature really exists, or is Lombardi behind it all?
Not quite one of those, so bad they are good films, but still not great, but it is entertaining enough if viewed in this manner.
