night of the eagle (1962)

"I'm sure you're convinced I'm quite insane."
Psychology Professor Norman Taylor (Peter Wyngarde) discovers his wife Tansy (Janet Blair) is practicing witch, doing so to protect him from evil forces. Not believing in such things he destroys the magical paraphernalia. But soon he starts to experience strange events. Could it be that Tansy is right and she isn't the only one practicing witchcraft?
A imaginative low budget horror, developing a sinister atmosphere around Wyngarde as he looses faith in his rational approach to life.

finders, keepers (1966)

"Time Drags"
Cliff and The Shadows travel to Spain for a gig, but find out that a small bomb has been dropped on the town. So they decide to find the bomb and return it! But a Colonel Roberts (Robert Morley) also wants it, to sell to the highest bidder.
Lesser Cliff musical, with thin plot and even thinner songs.

three hats for lisa (1965)

Johnny Howjego (Joe Brown) is a fan of film star Lisa Milan (Sophie Hardy), and accidentally ends up showing her around his London, whilst she attempts her hobbby, stealing hats!
Musical featuring the usual suspects including Una Stubbs and Sidney James, in this limp attempt at showing off swinging London.

all coppers are (1972)

Sue (Julia Foster) bounces between married policeman Joe (Martin Potter), who won't leave his wife (Wendy Allnutt), and local villain Barry (Nicky Henson), who is pre-occupied with a big robbery.
Would be gritty 70's British drama, that lacks the gritty drama!

this is my street (1964)

"You want to relax a little, have a little fun."
Housewife Margery (June Ritchie) is bored with the drudgery of her life. Sick of the street she lives in, having to pander to her husband and child and working to provide for them. The only spark she can find is the lodger Harry King (Ian Hendry), who is eternally chatting her up. Eventually she succumes but then he dumps her, bringing her world crashing down...
Wonderful slice of life, full of early sixties atmosphere. Watch out for a young John Hurt.

payroll (1961)

A gang headed by Johnny (Michael Craig), plan and execute an armed robbery on an armoured car. From the off there are cracks between them, cracks that splinter when their carefully laid plans go wrong. They manage to make off with the loot, but only at the expense of two dead, one of the gang and the van driver. From then on they not only have to keep ahead of the police, but also have to contend with the driver's wife (Billie Whitelaw), who is after revenge.
A wonderfully gritty British crime caper, with a suitable big band soundtrack. It plays along with the standard crime film formula's, (right down to the use of a Jaguar as the getaway car), but uses them to good effect. The initial exhilaration of the robbery, gives way to viciousness and brutality, then nerve jingling tension as the gang quickly fall apart. Add some great performances especially from Whitelaw, Craig and Tom Bell (as a hot headed gang member), and a playful script, and you have an entertaining crime caper that will more than fill that 90 minute gap in your life.

circus of horrors (1960)

Anton Diffring is a plastic surgeon on the run after one too many botched face jobs. He stumbles on a rundown circus, which he takes over, as a cover for his continued operations. A low key, but effective little film, nicely played by the cast.
