The charming Wilbur Whateley (Dean Stockwell) visits Arkham Miskatonic University to study the Necronomicon and captivates, (or should that be bewitches), student Nancy Wagner (Sandra Dee) in the process.
Based on an HP Lovecraft story subfusing it with a level of underlying menace.

war of the monsters (1966)

AKA Gamera vs. Barugon, Daikaijū kettō: Gamera tai Barugon, Great Monster Duel: Gamera vs. Barugon
"The lives of all our people will be in danger.
After a brief introduction to Gamera we are transported to a remote island where a small group are hunting an opal stashed in a forbidden cave. Upon retrieval one of the gang betrays the others stranding one of the gang on the island. There an islander tell's the stranded man that their opal is not really a jewel and they have to retrieve it! But they are too late as a lizard, Barugon, hatches and sets about destroying Kobe and in turn attracting Gamera...
This creature feature was bought by AIP who Americanised it for television, presenting a monster not as compelling as Godzilla, but with a nice crime drama sub-plot.

night of the eagle (1962)

"I'm sure you're convinced I'm quite insane."
Psychology Professor Norman Taylor (Peter Wyngarde) discovers his wife Tansy (Janet Blair) is practicing witch, doing so to protect him from evil forces. Not believing in such things he destroys the magical paraphernalia. But soon he starts to experience strange events. Could it be that Tansy is right and she isn't the only one practicing witchcraft?
A imaginative low budget horror, developing a sinister atmosphere around Wyngarde as he looses faith in his rational approach to life.

deathsport (1978)

"Take away my body and my soul will still be mine."
A distant post-apocalyptic future sees Lord Zirpola (David McLean) capture the Desert Range Guides Kaz (David Carradine), and Deneer (Claudia Jennings). He then forces them to fight to the death in a savage motorcycle race called Deathsport.
The best thing about this film is the poster! A weak and cheaply made b-movie that lacks the humour of much of Corman's output.

the amityville horror (1979)

"The house is doing things"
Newlywed (James Brolin) and (Margot Kidder) find their perfect house, and at a great price, Unfortunately the great price is as it had been the location of a mass murder, and soon the family start experiencing bizarre events, that even the local priest (Rod Steiger) cannot stop!
A fine supernatural thriller.

the time travellers (1964)

"I say try it!"
Scientists (Preston Foster, Philip Carey, Steve Franken and Mary Anders) accidentally open up a window into the future, the year 2071 and find a barren wasteland, then get trapped there when the portal collapses..
A low budget but entertaining piece of fiction.

master of the world (1961)

Aka Jules Verne's Master of the World
"I do believe this blaggard has convinced you that this ship is magical."
John Strock (Charles Bronson) is sent to Morgantown Pennsylvania, to investigate some mysterious events reported by the locals. He enlists Philip Evans (David Frankham) and his baloon to help, but whilst surveying the local mountain they are attacked and taken prisoner by Captain Robur (Vincent Price), who wants to stop all wars, by any means necessary using his invincible airship.
A Capt Nemo rip-off, that never gets off the ground.

riot on sunset strip (1967)

"So we begin another jolly evening in kiddy land."
Andy (Mimsy Farmer) is 17 and at college, when she starts hanging with an unruly bunch getting their kicks in the clubs of Sunset Strip. This brings her into conflict with the police for curfew violations, and thus her estranged father, the local police chief (Aldo Ray), who is under pressure to crack down on these 'longhairs'.
Run of the mill melodrama, wrapped up like an exploitation classic. Mind you it does feature the Chocolate Watch Band, the Standells,

frogs (1972)

"Damn creatures are everywhere!"
A group arrive on an island estate owned by Jason Crockett (Ray Milland) to celebrate his birthday, only to find it crawling with frogs and other animals determined to get Crockett back for poisoning nature! The only one who can help is photographer Pickett Smith (Sam Elliot).
Silly eco-horror, that has you rooting for the amphibians.

war of the satellites (1958)

"The warning from outer space was valid. It came from a superior intelligence."
The United Nations is funding manned satellite research, but they are are being destroyed by an unknown force. Then Aliens reveal they are declaring war on Earth when the U.N. refuse to stop building the space stations. It's up to Dave (Dick Miller) and Sybil (Susan Cabot) to save the day.
Run of the mill sci-fi, with little of note to recommend it.

the robot versus the aztec mummy (1958)

aka The Aztec Mummy Against the Humanoid Robot. La momia azteca contra el robot humano. The Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy.

Dr. Eduardo Almada (Ramón Gay) tries to prove his theories on past life regression, by hunting for some lost Aztec treasure, with his patient leading the way. Unfortunately the Aztec mummy Popoca (Ángel Di Stefani) has other ideas, then to make things worse, mad scientist, The Bat (Luis Aceves Castañeda) takes an interest in obtaining the loot...
Weird Mexican movies are taken by American K. Gordon Murray, hacked up and dubbed into English, then sold onto the lucrative the drive in market, and this is one of them. Mad, Bad and mildly diverting to watch!

the million eyes of sumuru (1967)

aka The Million Eyes of Su-Muru.
"We have but one weakness that needs to be routed out and destroyed, Love."
The beautiful but evil Sumuru (Shirley Eaton) plans world domination with her all female army. Agents Nick West (George Nader) and Tommy Carter (Frankie Avalon) are sent to an Oriental country to help President Boong (Klaus Kinski), and stumble in on the plot to replace him.
A film with all the right ingredients, but just mixes them up wrongly.

battle beyond the sun (1959)

aka The Heavens Call. The Sky Calls.
"A monster of evolution."
Two super powers race to have the first successful landing on Mars, with one having to rescue the other, before landing on Mars and finding some monsters.
AIP took a Russian space flick, add some cheesy new material and create something less than the sum of its parts.

vampira (1974)

aka Old Dracula.
"Something weird about him."
Dracula (David Niven) is reduced to hosting tours of his castle in his hunt for victims, and in order to revive his beloved, Vampira. He sees his chance when four Playboy Playmates arrive. Unfortunately one of the Playmates whose blood is drained is black, turning the revived Vampira (Teresa Graves) into a black woman. Thus Dracula sets out to collect some more blood from the other playmates in an attempt to restore Vampira to her original color. This means a journey to London, where the girls have moved on to.
A farce based on the Vampire genre, which unfortunately fails to inject any comedy into the proceedings.

angels from hell (1968)

"We're full on super scooter trash man."
Biker Mike (Tom Stern), returns from a tour of Vietnam, and dreams of using his newly found skills to organize the bikers, bringing them together into one huge outlaw gang. He manages to oust the old president, and has himself installed in his place, but with his reckless disregard for all but himself, it's just a matter of time before there is all out war between the bikers and the police...
Cheap take on the outlaw biker flick, with Arlene Martel providing the female interest. Not a great deal happens of interest until near the films end; they meet some hippies on a run and get hassled by the man.

cat girl (1957)

aka The Cat Girl.
"Better she had never been born, than to come home to this." Recently married Leonora Johnson (Barbara Shelley) takes a trip to her uncle's house to break the news. Whilst visiting he leads her to believe she has inherited the family curse. A curse that means she controls a murderous feline that does her bidding when angered.
Psychological horror that plays with the same themes as Val Lewton's Cat People and Leopard Man. Unfortunately it doesn't live up to these high standards.

the curse of the aztec mummy (1957)

aka La maldición de la momia azteca.
"There are things to do, so I'll be going."
Flora (Rosa Arenas), the reincarnation of an Aztec princess, is hypnotised by the evil genius Dr. Krupp aka The Bat (Luis Aceves Castañeda), into revealing the location of the Aztec mummy, whose armour holds the key to a fortune in jewels. A fortune that only Flora's boyfriend, Dr. Almada (Ramón Gay), can decipher. But fortunately superhero The Angel (Crox Alvarado) is determined to stop Krupp from finding them, as is the revived Aztec Mummy.
Sequel to 1957's Aztec Mummy, which introduced the world to the masked wrestler/luchador hero.

attack of the eye creatures (1965)

aka The Eye Creatures. Attack Of The The Eye Creatures. (sic)
"Let's get out of here."
Stan Kenyon (John Ashley) and his girlfriend Susan Rogers (Cynthia Hull) are planning to elope. Unfortunately for them they stop at lovers lane first and spot something dodgy in the woods, some meandering aliens! Their troubles really start though when they accidentally run one of the creatures over, and make the mistake of telling the police. Obviously the police they are skeptical, and finding a man dead on the same road, do what any good cop would do, swiftly charge Stan with hit and run. Now Stan has two troubles, the cops and aliens loose in the woods!
Funny for all the wrong reasons; plot errors, lack of costumes and bad scripting. There is nothing left to chance by the producers in making sure this is one of those 'so bad it's bad' flicks.

the time travelers (1964)

aka The Depths Of The Unknown.
"earth, our planet, our home is now just a burnt out sterile slag in space." A team of scientists accidentally open a portal in time, and find themselves 127 years in the future, trapped. They find the Earth now to be a wasteland full of mutants. Fortunately they are rescued by a group of scientists who are trying to escape to a new planet by building a spacecraft.
Defines the phrase cheap and cheerful, with an emphasis on cheerful.

abby (1974)

aka Possess My Soul.
"Whaddya think of my powers now?"
Bishop Garnet Williams (William Marshal), an anthropologist and minister specialising in African religions, manages to unwittingly release a demon on the world. A spirit that possesses marriage counselor Abby (Carol Speed). Bishop Williams returns to battle the demon, but who will win?
A camp blacksploitation take on The Exorcist, that starts slowly and never picks up the pace.
