the raid 2 (2014)

aka The Raid 2: Berandal.

Rama (Iko Uwais) fresh from raid, is persuaded to go undercover within prison to get close to co (), the son of a major gang leader. From there he is well placed to see Uco become frustrated with his position and escalate things beyond his control.
Evans spins Rama's story into new area's from The Raid, introducing more complex story-lines, and martial arts set pieces. Brutal, dark and spectacular.

escape from hellhole (1978)

"You have yet to experience the real joys of life..."
A Punjabi girl (Guphy Sintara) gets tricked into moving in with Uncle MG (Dicky Zulkarnaen), not knowing that he is a pimp, specialising in virgins. But things only get worse, as when she doesn't submit to his ways she is thrown into his private jail.
As cheap and nasty as it sounds.

savage terror (1980)

aka Primitif. Primitives.
"Is it possible to go deeper into the jungle?"
Three anthropology students and their guides are traveling the Indonesian jungle when their raft capsizes, leaving them at the mercy of a cannibalistic tribe intent on lunch.
An uninteresting mash-up of other cannibal films, such as Cannibal Ferox, featuring the usual animal cruelty, (why?), and includes the most disconcerting use of Kraftwerk's The Robots as a title theme!

the raid: redemption (2012)

aka Serbuan maut.
"Go to work and have a fun."
A SWAT team, including Rama (Iko Uwais), is sent into a tower block run by a ruthless drug dealer, but once inside the team realises that they are on their own, surrounded by vicious gangsters intent on killing them.
Like a fight game brought to life, this has little in the way of plot, just pure unadulterated brutal and punishing action.

Merantau (2009)

aka Merantau Warrior.

Yuda (Iko Uwais), leaves his village to move to Jakarta to make money for his family. There he comes to the aid of Astri (Sisca Jessica), an orphan who is about to be kidnapped by a local gang. Defending Astri and her brother, the three end up on the run from Ratger (Mads Koudal), the vicious leader of the gang, and prey to every lowlife in the city...
After a slow start, this soon ramps up the action, which lets face it, is what we are after in a martial arts movie.

lady terminator (1988)

aka Nasty Hunter. Terminator Woman. Shooting Star, Snake Terminator: The Snake Wench Dies Twice. The Revenge of the South Seas Queen.
"I'm not a lady, I'm an anthropologist."
Tanya (Barbara Anne Constable), a young anthropologist is possessed by the spirit of the South Sea queen, who uses her body to go on a killing spree.
Cheap, choppy, disjointed and sexed up rip-off of James Cameron's Terminator, with a frequently nude woman replacing the Austrian behemoth.
