she-wolf of london (1946)

"She's done me in."
Phyllis Allenby (June Lockhart) is a young upper class woman, living in Victorian London, and heir to the Allenby estate. About to get married she shouldn't have a care in the world. Unfortunately some people have been savaged by a wild animal in a nearby park, some saying it's a werewolf, and she believes that she is the perpetrator, subject to the Allenby curse.
A well made, though lesser Universal horror, and really more of a love story wrapped around a murder mystery rather than a horror.

Scientist Dr. Carruthers (Bela Lugosi) has a grudge against his employers, believing he's been stiffed by them and plots his revenge. The obvious solution is to develop a way of enlarging bats and training them to kill. But reporter Johnny Layton (Dave O'Brien) is on his trail.
An entire city of secret laboratories, rubber bats on strings and Bela Lugosi emoting furiously, whats not to like?

king of the zombies (1941)

"Just wait until you see the zombies!"
1940 and a light aircraft is blown off course in a storm, ditching on an unknown Caribbean island. The two passengers, Bill (John Archer) and his servant Jefferson (Mantan Moreland), along with the pilot Mac (Dick Purcell), take refuge in the house of Dr Sangre (Henry Victor). But Jefferson isn't happy and is convinced the Dr isn't on the level, especially when he finds out about the zombies!
Apart from suffering from some dated and unpc material, this has some genuinely funny lines, giving the black comedian, Mantan Moreland, the chance to steal the show in this otherwise run of the mill comedy. Something that never happened in American films of the time.
