scary movie 4 (2006)

"We caught a lot of fish."
Riffs on Saw, Brokeback Mountain, The Grudge, Dark Water, but mostly the remake of War of the Worlds, as Zucker again helms the series, and delivers another entertaining, though by no means hilarious movie.

scary movie 3 (2003)

"I've got a dream...to have a dream."
This time the comedy franchise ditches most of the characters from the first two films, and sets its sights on The Ring, Sixth Sense, Eight Mile, and Signs amongst others.
With Zucker at the helm the series becomes less frat-boy in its humour, as he brings his experience as director of Airplane and the Naked Gun series to bear.

kentucky fried movie (1977)

Before Airplane and the Naked Gun, there was Kentucky Fried Movie, where the Zucker and Abraham's team cut their teeth, in shorter highly irreverent sketches, spoofing the movie (martial arts, blacksploitation, disaster and sexploitation films), and TV (adverts, and news programming) industry. At the centre is the mighty A Fistful of Yen, a spoof on Enter The Dragon.
As these are skits, it's a bit hit and miss, but mostly they hit their target. Rude, crude, but also funny.

top secret (1984)

"I know a little German. He's sitting over there."
Nick Rivers (Val Kilmer) is an American rock n roll singer, who is booked to play an East German gig. There he gets involved in breaking out a scientist, who is developing the next generation of super-weapon, from prison.
Another follow up by Zucker and Abrahams using their patented spoof 'Airplane' style. This time they target WWII resistance movies, which isn't as successful as the Airplane/Naked Gun franchises, but has its moments.

airplane (1980)

aka Flying High! Kentucky Fried Airplane.
Whilst looking for inspiration for their next comedy the team saw Zero Hour! and a light bulb moment occurred. They bought the film rights and thus was born the spoof to end all spoofs.
Chock full of humour on every level, that rewards repeat viewing as there is always something you missed the first time.
