the girl who couldn't quite (1949)

"She loves giving me surprises..."
Ruth (Elizabeth Henson) is a troubled girl, who never smiles. The only time she did was when she encountered Tim (Bill Owen), a tramp, whilst in hospital. Her mother decides to employ Tim in an attempt to bring her out of her depression, which he does, but the shock causes her to become an amnesiac, forgetting Tim completely. In fact she starts acting frightened around him, causing him much distress.
Would be screw-ball comedy that some becomes a psychotherapy session!

A mundaine run through the life of a rogue, who no doubt could charm people, but was also quick to anger and killed a number before being caught.

the door with seven locks (1941)

Lord Stanley Francis (Aubrey Mallalieu) is dying, poisoned by Dr. Manetta (Leslie Banks) with the help of the servants. The lord mistrusting everyone has his valuables placed in a vault with seven locks. Ten years pass with no one having access to the vault, when June Lansdowne (Lilli Palmer) is sent a message and a key! This starts her journey to find out about the key, and throws her into the arms of Dr Manetta, who wants the keys and decides to use his collection of Medeival torture devices to get them. Can anyone save June from a dastardly fate?
A surprisingly entertaining b-movie horror, due mainly to the presence of Lilli Palmer and her quick quipping and easy to scare, side kick Gina Malo.
