the severed arm (1973)

"Whoever it is, is in the building with you!"
A group of friends end up trapped when the cave they are exploring collapses. After a number of weeks they decide the only way to survive is to eat a limb, and draw to find the unlucky recipient. Shortly after they are rescued, and the donor, now delirious threatens the rest that he 'will never forget', before being placed in an asylum. Years later the man is released, and the killing begins...
Cheap and badly produced, but with an interesting 'Saw' like ending, that lifts this from bad to mediocre.

jeepers creepers 2 (2003)

aka Jeepers Creepers 2: The Second Night. Human Catcher.

In a rural part of the US, a malevolent spirit awakes to feed every 23 years. Having snatched the child of a local farmer, the spirit still had the munchies and welcomed the arrival of a school bus full of jocks and their cheerleaders...
This follow up comes with a higher stalking ratio, and some amazing set pieces.

fangs of the living dead (1969)

sylvia (Anita Ekberg) finds she has inherited a castle and a title in rural Woldavia. So off she goes to have a look, and finds the locals scared of her family name, and the castle inhabited by 'uncle' Count Walbrooke (Julián Ugarte) and Blinka (Adriana Ambesi), who have found eternal life, as vampires...
Mildly diverting vampire story from the man who went on to bring us the Blind Dead franchise.

jeepers creepers (2001)

"You know the part in the movie where somebody does something really stupid and everyone hates them for it. Well this is it!"
Patricia and Darry Jenner (Gina Philips & Justin Long) are travelling the back roads home from college, and are harrassed by a menacing truck. They then see the driver off-load something suspiciously like a body, and stupidly decide to investigate. What they don't know is the driver is no man, but a creature harvesting souls...
A knowing stalker horror, that uses the cliches of backwoods self interest to good effect.

piranha (2010)

It's Spring Break at Lake Victoria, and Jake (Steven R. McQueen) gets a job scouting locations for the 'wild wild girls' video crew, (including Kelly Brooks). To do so he has to defy his mother (Elisabeth Shue), (the local sheriff), who wants him to baby-sit his young brother and sister. Unfortunately what no one is aware of as yet, is that an underwater tremor has set free hundreds of man-eating fish,and they are heading for the lake and lots of snacking...
Lots of name actors, including Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd and Richard Dreyfuss, all pop up in this fun teen re-versioning of the 70's classic, with plenty of gore, naked girls, and black humour.

danger within (1959)

In a WWII POW camp everyone becomes a suspect When a break out ends up with the escapee being killed. The escape committee leader, Lieutenant Colonel David Baird (Richard Todd), suspects an informer is operating in the camp. The race is on to find the spy and to stage a mass breakout before the camp is handed over to the Germans.
Star studded film, that has the added attraction of being a murder mystery as well as wartime drama.

frankenstein's castle of freaks (1974)

Maria (Simonetta Vitelli) the daughter of Count Frankenstein (Rossano Brazzi) returns to his castle, with some guests, in preparation for her wedding, including Krista (Christiane Rücker), who the count takes a great interest in. But trouble comes when he dismisses his dwarf servant (Michael Dunn), who immediately swears he will take revenge, and he sees an opportunity when he finds a Neanderthal man in the caves near the castle.
Charmingly shambolic exploitation feature, that factors in all the horror cliches, and adds some gratuitous nudity.

frankenhooker (1990)

Medical student Jeffrey Franken (James Lorinz), has been a reclouse since his fiancée died, and eventually decides to recreate her using a body made from prostitutes (Patty Mullen).
Lively and fun version of the classic, bringing the classic into the 90's.

werewolf in a girls' dormitory (1961)

Clunky, but charmingly cheap murder mystery.
