Soylent Green (1973)

"When I was a kid, you could buy meat anywhere! Eggs they had, real butter! Not this... crap!"
2022 and the earth is overpopulated and bursting at the seams. In this world we find Thorn (Charlton Heston), a New York police detective, who stumbles upon a secret that endangers his life about the revolutionary new food soylent green.
An interesting mix of sc-fi and film noir, and Edward G Robinson's last film.

10 rillington place (1971)

"I trust you, Mr Christie, of course I do."
The illiterate Timothy Evans (John Hurt) moves his family to London seeking work and rents a room from the respected John Christie (Richard Attenborough). When Evans wife falls pregnant Timothy turns to Christie for help. Christie is only too obliging, performing an abortion on her, but she dies, and Evans gets the blame and is convicted of the capital crime and hung. What the world does not know is that Christie far from being an upstanding gent, is actually a serial killer...
Dramatisation of the real-life serial killer, and how he managed to avoid justice for so long and his contribution to the miscarriage of justice that Timothy Evans suffered. Hurt is wonderful as the gullible Evans, and Attenborough is a chilling Christie.

fantastic voyage (1966)

aka Microscopia. Strange Journey.
A scientist escapes from behind the Iron Curtain with the help of CIA agent Grant. He gives the Americans the secret of miniturising people and things, but is attacked and severely injured. The only way to save him and get all his secrets is to place a team of miniturised doctors, (including Donald Pleasence and Raquel Welsh), into his body to clear a clot on his brain. Time is critical with the crew only having one hour to get to the clot, perform the operation and and get out.
A fun adventure that rolls along nicely, just don't look for any logic in it!

amityville 3d (1983)

aka Amityville III: The Demon. Amityville: The Demon.
A skeptical investigative journalist buys the infamous Amityville House, then finds that being an unbeliever doesn't stop the household problems.
The film slowly unveils the demons within the house, in an entertaining way. Managing to just about hold my attention. The 3D effects are ok, sometimes enhancing the look and feel, other times intruding. All in all nothing exceptional, but like most 3D films worth seeing once for the novelty value.
