the cat creature (1973)

"The symbol of baast!"
An Egyptian mummy comes back as a cat to exact revenge and find its amulet. On its trail is archeologist Prof. Edmond (David Hedison) and detective Marco (Stuart Whitman).
TV film, that piles on the guest stars, from Gale Sondergaard, to John Carradine, to produce a passable story that pays homage to previous cat creature features.

night tide (1961)

"Its very very dangerous to go in the water after you have eaten."
A lonely sailor on shore leave, Johnny (Dennis Hopper), takes up with Mora (Linda Lawson), who plays a mermaid in the local carnival, but he starts to suspect that she may have a compulsion to kill during the full moon.
Full of atmosphere, a charming little film with a slight story of love, and loneliness. Should be double-billed with the she creature (1956), another film that features a sideshow sea creature supposedly chomping on people.

voyage to the prehistoric planet (1968)

"Prehistoric Planet."
A pair of astronauts, take a robot to explore Venus, but soon they come under attack from carnivorous plants and animals. Then the violent storms begin, and it looks increasingly like they may get trapped there.
Russian film Planeta Bur, is picked up by AIP, who add some extra footage, and there you have it a completely new film! So pleased where they with this, they actually did it twice, also producing 'Voyage to the planet of prehistoric women', by adding some film of some Blondes by the sea. Both times I wish they hadn't bothered!

queen of blood (1966)

AKA Planet Of Blood.
"I'm afraid we will have to proceed in the dark as it were."
Sometime in the future, 1990 in fact, and a space research centre receives messages from an alien spacecraft that plans to visit earth. When the craft crashes on Mars a planned mission to Mars becomes a rescue mission. The astronauts including Allan Brenner (John Saxon) and Paul Grant (Dennis Hopper), find only one survivor who is brought aboard for the return to earth, but soon it is apparent that something is attacking them and draining them of blood. Can they get home to the safety of earth before they become victim to the bloodsucker.
The low budget and slow pacing cannot cover up a fun 60's sci-fi.
