district 13 (2009)

AKA Banlieue 13.
"What the fuck is wrong with everyone today?"
In the near future, Leïto (David Belle), is enlisted by policeman Damien Tomaso (Cyril Raffaelli) as a guide to District 13, an area of Paris that has been walled off to create a prison/ghetto full of the most unsavoury characters. One such is Taha (Bibi Naceri), who Leïto hates due to a previous run in with him. Tomaso meanwhile has his own problems as he as been tasked with finding and dismantling a nuclear warhead which has fallen into the possession of Taha.
All action, martial arts that's light on story. Think of Escape from New York mixed with Ong Bak and you are in the same ball park.

A couple loose their child in tragic circumstances. The wife (Charlotte Gainsbourg) takes the event extremely badly, whilst the husband (Willem Dafoe) tries to relieve her depression using psychotherapy. To do so he takes her to a cabin in the woods, but this proves to be a disasterous move.
Beautiful and terrifying horror that descends broodingly into pits of despair and destruction.
