2.7.14

wanted (1967)

"Good luck Sheriff."
The corrupt officials of Greenfield are about to elect a new sheriff, when Gary Ryan (Giuliano Gemma) is appointed by Judge Anderson. From then on Ryan is up against these factions, who want him out of their way, hook or by crook. So when they fit him up for murder, Ryan is forced to run, with only justice and retribution on his mind.
Entertaining actioner, with the look and feel of an American Western, rather than an Italian one.

29.3.14

archer of fire (1971)

aka L'arciere di fuoco. Long Live Robin Hood. The Scalawag Bunch.
"As the Sheriff...people will fear me."
Robin Hood (Giuliano Gemma) takes on Prince John, making a fool of him at an archery contest, whilst also finding time to romance Lady Marianne (Silvia Dionisio).
Nothing to tax your brain with.

9.12.13

conquest of mycene (1963)

aka Ercole contro Molock. Hercules vs. the Molloch. Hercules Against Moloch. Hercules Attacks.
"If you love freedom above all else, Glauco loves it more so."
Glauco (Gordon Scott), is a prince to a neighboring empire who goes undercover as Hercules in an attempt to free Mycenae from the corrupt and evil Queen Demetra (Rosalba Neri) and her disfigured son Moloch.
Well made political thriller, with the added attractions of a hunky hero and beautiful princesses and queens.

18.1.11

hero of rome (1964)

aka The Colossus Of Rome. Arm Of Fire. Il colosso di Roma.
"Perhaps when you've felt the most horrible of all tortures, you'll become a little more reasonable."
The citizens of Rome declare a republic, ousting the despised Tarquinius (Massimo Serato). But Tarquinius makes an alliance with the Etruscan king, Porsenna (Roldano Lupi), in an attempt to retake power. All that stands in his way is the Roman general Mucius (Gordon Scott).
Gordon Scott makes for a fine hero in this light-weight piece of hokum.
