"Matron doesn't approve of banging in the wards."
The charming Dr. Kilmore (Jim Dale) is popular with the patients, just as registrar Dr. Tinkle (Kenneth Williams) and the battleaxe matron (Hattie Jacques) are universally detested. When Kilmore is sacked under dubious circumstances the patients are determined to exact their revenge on Tinkle and the matron.
All the regulars are here, with the addition of Frankie Howerd. They mesh nicely with the double entendres, but this is still one of the mediocre efforts in the institution that is the Carry On series.
