the incredible melting man (1977)
"Steve do you read me? Steve are you alright?"
An astronaut (Alex Rebar) returns to earth a changed man. The only survivor of the mission to Saturn, he starts to mutate and melt, whilst becoming ever more angry and murderous. Then he escapes, Can the doctors track him down, contain him, and keep the public from finding out.
A shameless update of Hammer's 'Quatermass Xperiment', this is cheesy, cheap and featuring some of the least inspired acting in a long time! It manages to feature enough uninspired direction, and acting to enter that small body of work, the so bad it's good flick.

ReplyDeleteI think I may have liked Incredible Melting Man more than you did, but thanks for bringing it up. I did a write-up of the flick a little while ago:

Thanks, Ivan
I just thought the pacing was wrong, it could have been a 45 minute cracker, but they just strung it out far too much, lots of pregnant pauses, and recaps. Rick Baker on the other hand stormed it with the melting make up.
