"Oh I am most sorry, did I hurt you?"The new vicar of a parish Rev Mullet (Leo Franklyn) learns that he has to share the church hall with a boxing gym and its canny promoter Wally Burton (William Hartnell). He's under orders to get them out, but his son Dickie (Brian Rix) is convinced he has a talent for boxing and they need money to repair the roof.
Out for the count before it even gets going, despite having Vera Day as the love interest and the comic talents of Syd James and Tommy Cooper.
