Complications arise in everyday hospital life when a new matron takes over the wards. Matron Sweet (Joan Sims) is too strict for Sir Lancelot Spratt (James Robertson Justice), and he tasks local lothario Dr Gaston Grimsdyke (Leslie Phillips) to find her someone to love. Grimsdyke though is preoccupied trying to charm the hospitals young new physiotherapist Jeannine (Elizabeth Ercy).
The Doctor series enters the swinging sixties, and continues in its light comedic manner, less crude that the Carry On's, but just as entertaining. This installment is probably the best of the lot. Watch out for Shirley Anne Field and as one of the nurses.
