doctor faustus (1967)

AKA Dr. Faustus
Faustus (Richard Burton) is a scholar studying for his doctorate, and his insatiable appetite for knowledge and power takes him down the dark path of necromancy. He uses his knowledge to summon up Mephistopheles (Andreas Teuber) and bargains his soul away to be able to live twenty-four more years.
A basic re-write of the Marlowe play, with some cameo appearances of Elizabeth Taylor to try and liven up proceedings.

shadow of the hawk (1976)

"Evil is around us."
Mike (Jan Michael-Vincent) is plagued by visions of a powerful evil spirit, and when his grandfather, a native American Shaman, Old Man Hawk (Chief Dan George) turns up unexpectedly asking to be taken home, Mike is pursuaded to reluctantly journey to their ancestral village. With a reporter (Marilyn Hassett) tagging along, Hawk reveals he is in a spiritual battle with an evil sorceress and Mike is drawn into the ancestral curse.
Atmospheric road movie thriller, that loses its way after a while.

the specialist (1969)

aka Gli specialisti. Drop Them or I'll Shoot.
"No son-of-a-bitch can kill me. I’ll be alright."
Hud (Johnny Hallyday) comes to town seeking revenge for the death of his brother, unjustly hanged accused of robbing the town bank. Things soon get complicated as the bank money is still missing, with plenty of suspects, and the added complication of El Diablo (Mario Adorf) a Mexican bandit also getting involved.
Not one of Corbucci's best, but livened up by the presence of French rock star Johnny Hallyday.

the quiet ones (2014)

"Why do I get the impression this is about to get unpleasant? "
University professor (Jared Harris) and a group of his students try to expel a malevolent from young woman Jane Harper (Olivia Cooke), but only succeed in uncovering terrifyingly dark forces.
An interesting story, supposedly based on true events, but one that only contains some mild shocks along the way.

baby cart in the land of demons (1973)

aka Shogun Assassin 4: Five Fistfuls of Gold. Sword of Vengeance. Kozure Ôkami: Meifumadô.
"I have come for your life."
Five warriors are trying to track down and challenge Ogami Itto (Tomisaburô Wakayama) to duels. Each holds a part of information and money needed to complete the assassination of a mad Daimyo as he plots to decieve his clan and the Shogun!
Number five in the Lone Wolf and Cub series sees a film with new depth and a renewed visual style, as Itto's story intertwines with that of a female pickpocket.

fuego (1969)

aka Conoscenza carnale di una ninfomane. Fire
"Your desires cannot be quenshed."
Laura (Isabel Sarli) is a nymphomaniac who marries Carlos (), warning him that she will never be faithful to him. Following a number of discressions, they take on a psychiatrist in an attempt to cure her with little success.
A camp classic due to the plot and fashions, and a supposed favorite of John Waters, with Sarli acting as part inspiration for Divines look.

killer fish (1979)

aka Greed. The Naked Sun. Deadly Treasure of the Piranha.
"Just when the conversation was getting interesting."
Jewel thieves, (including Lee Majors and Karen Black), rob a mning concern in Brazil, and hide the hot emeralds underwater till the heat dies down, but what they don't know is that the lake has a large population of piranha, who are not adverse to feasting on divers!
Margaux Hemingway pops up as the love interest in the subplot of this very mildly diverting creature feature.
