don't torture a duckling (1972)

aka Non Si Sevizia Un Paperino.
"The killer is here with us, I know it!"
A child is murdered in a remote part of Italy, and the village idiot is soon caught, but he professes that he only buried the child, who was already dead. Then other children are found. So who is the serial killer? Could it be the reporter (Tomas Milian), who tampers with evidence, the young flirtacious newcomer (Barbara Bouchet), who is known to be an ex-drug addict, the local witch (Florinda Bolkan), or any number of other characters.
Something of a departure for Fulci, better known for his more gruesome fare. A well made thriller, featuring giallo's usual twists and misdirection, and an underlying examination of superstition.
