penny gold (1973)

aka Clayton & Catherine. Love, Bullets and Frenzy.
"Money wouldn't buy the Penny Gold."
Inspector Matthew (James Booth) tries to solve the brutal murder of a young woman. The body is identified by her twin sister, Delphi (Francesca Annis), but things soon get complicated when he implicates her in a rare-stamp swindle.
Unfortunately a thriller that lacks suspense is one that is doomed to fail.

the girl on a motorcyle (1968)

AKA Naked Under Leather.
"Rebellion is the only thing that keeps you alive!"
Rebecca (Marianne Faithfull) is a newlywed who leaves her husband (Roger Mutton) on her prized motorbike, to escape and visit her lover in Heidelberg. Whilst journeying across Germany she reminisces and relives her changing relationship with the two men. One a staid teacher, the other (Alain Delon) a rebel figure.
A road movie with a difference, being that it features a woman as the protagonist. It is a product of its time, with many psychedelic passages.

the mutations (1974)

aka The Freakmaker. Dr. of Evil.
Professor Noller (Donald Pleasence) is a biologist determined to give nature a nudge, or rather a wholesale kicking! He starts creating his own genetically engineered animal plant hybrids using students from a local college. He is aided by Lynch (Tom Baker), the deformed manager of a freak show. Alls going well for the pair until a visiting Professor (Brad Harris) from the US comes to view Noller's research, helped by some students (including Julie Ege, Jill Haworth and Scott Antony) who are given the task of looking after the visiting VIP, but they soon get closer to the research than they want!

A slow paced horror that combines Todd Brownings Freaks, with The Island of Dr Moreau. It has some interesting moments, but as a whole is an average horror. One for those who like the Brithorror genre, otherwise you'll probably better giving it a miss.
