jessica's room (2012)

"You want us to sacrifice our lives to find out what happened here?"
Film maker Sevin Michaels (Deacon Ledges) is making a documentary on a friend, who was murdered, along with his wife and family, supposedly by their ten year old daughter. But Melanie Beck (Alyson King) is not convinced, especially when she finds out that the family had called in a paranormal investigator just days before the killings.
Starts to look like a low rent Paranormal Activity, and quickly descends from there. Especially when it introduces some really annoying characters and then doesn't give us the satisfaction of seeing them killed off!

one dark night (1982)

aka Dark Night. Entity Force. Mausoleum. Night in the Crypt. Rest In Peace. Night of Darkness.
"My dad said he was a fake."
The Sisters have an initiation ceremony that requires prospective members to spend the night in a mausoleum. As Julie Wells (Meg Tilly) is desperate to join, she has to undergo this, but unfortunately she is there on the night that famed psychic Karl Rhamarevich is interred, and he has discovered a way to use telekinesis even though he is dead!
Lots of running and screaming, makes for a run of the mill teen horror.

dark prince: the true story of dracula (2000)

"My fight was never with God...it was with you!"
1472 and Vlad (Rudolf Martin) is leading a rebellion, trying to drive out the Turks from Rumania. But his blunt and brutal leadership leds him to be called before a religious council to recount his history, and explain his actions.
A recounting of the known history of Vlad Tepes, and one done well, for all its lack of funds.

summer holiday (1963)

"There's something nasty round the bend! "
Four bus mechanics (inc Cliff Richard) for London Transport, strike a deal where they get to use a double decker bus, to travel across Europe to Greece. On their journey they pick up three women who happen to be on their way to Athens. They also gain a stowaway, a young American pop singer (Lauri Peters) who has run away from her controlling mother. On discovery she pretends to be a young boy, in order to evade detection.
Bright and breezy musical made to showcase Cliff and the Shadows, which it does with ease.

made in dagenham (2010)

"Everybody out!"
It's 1968 and fed up of being exploited as unskilled labour, the machinists of Fords Dagenham finally decide enough is enough and come out on strike. Led by Rita (Sally Hawkins), who realises that the fight is more than about being skilled, but about sex discrimination.
A finely made, (though a bit sugary), dramatisation of the fight for recognition that the female employees of Fords undertook, and eventually won, but at a price.

creature (1973)

aka The Titan Find. Alien Creature.
"Nasa are we having fun yet?"
A geological team on Titan uncovers an alien being, that immediately kills the hapless humans and crashes their ship into their mother ship. Subsequently a team from another company is tasked with finding and documenting what the dead geological team had found.
Clunky Alien rip-off. that lacks the atmosphere of its more illustrious forebear, though with the advantage of Klaus Kinski, and gore!
