sartana kills them all (1970)

aka Un par de asesinos.
"How could you expect such a thing?"
Buddies Santana (Gianni Garko) and Marcos (Guglielmo Spoletini), have been double-crossed by the Burton brothers and have been tracked down by a large posse. They come to a deal where Marcos acts as decoy, allowing Sartana to escape to continue the hunt for the traitors. But Marcos is also soon back out and back on their trail also...
Patchy, violent, and fails to find out what it wants to be a comedy, or not.

daughters of satan (1972)

"If my wife had lived 350 years ago, she could have been a model for that witch in the centre of the painting."
When James Robertson (Tom Selleck) buys a painting of a witch burning, his wife Chris (Barra Grant) is gradually takes on the personality of the witch. When it is revealed that he is a descendent of one of the accusers, she plans her revenge on him, with two other reincarnated witches.
Opening on an intense torture scene, certainly wakes one up, but makes for a hard act to follow, And thus it proves, though setting it in the Philippines is an interesting twist.

gappa: the triphibian monsters (1967)

aka Daikyojû Gappa.
"A monster!"
A Japanese theme park wants to stock up on some exotic animals and sends some people to a South Seas island to gather some. The island is home to a tribe that worship the mysterious deity Gappa, and initially welcome the Japanese expedition, until a baby reptile appears following an earthquake. As despite their warnings, the scientists decide to take the creature back to Tokyo. So they only have themselves to blame when mom and dad turn up looking for their kid.
A Kaiju that doesn't look on the creatures as monsters, but as doting parents, and lacks much of the crash, bang, wallop of others in the genre.

wanted (1967)

"Good luck Sheriff."
The corrupt officials of Greenfield are about to elect a new sheriff, when Gary Ryan (Giuliano Gemma) is appointed by Judge Anderson. From then on Ryan is up against these factions, who want him out of their way, hook or by crook. So when they fit him up for murder, Ryan is forced to run, with only justice and retribution on his mind.
Entertaining actioner, with the look and feel of an American Western, rather than an Italian one.

blood money (1974)

aka Le Brute, Le Colt, Et Le Karate. El kárate, el Colt y el impostor. The Stranger and the Gunfighter.
"So they are going to hang me for finding four stupid pictures of naked women."
Safe Cracker Dakota (Lee Van Cleef), is about to hang for the death of Chinese banker Wang. Fortunately he is saved when Ho Chiang (Lieh Lo), Wang's nephew, frees Dakota, in order to hunt down his uncle's missing fortune.
Buddy comedy collaboration between Italian and Hong Kong producers, produces an interesting hybrid.

beyond the law (1968)

aka Al di là della legge. The Good Die First. The Outrider. Bloodsilver. The Last Bill is Yours.
"We've had a bad day. He lost his money and I lost my horse."
Ben Novack (Antonio Sabato) arrives on a stage coach traveling with the miners wages. Unfortunately it has been stolen by Joe Billy Cudlip (Lee Van Cleef), and his accomplices, in what seems a perfect plan. But then Joe looses his horse, and the money, and when he is aided by Ben, befriends him. Under Ben's influence, Joe starts to develop some scruples, and votes against stealing the next wage shipment.
Comic western, that entertains, but never attains classic status.

black jack (1968)

aka On Your Knees Django. Black Joe. Un Uomo per cinque vendette.
"Jack Murphy is dead and buried here."
Bank robber Black Jack (Robert Woods) is betrayed by his gang, who rape and murder his young sister, and leave him crippled for life, and wanting revenge.
What starts as your standard western, soon mutates, into a bleak and violent revenge story, where the hero is half mad with his pursuit of vengeance.

two brothers, one death (1968)

aka Ringo: The Lone Rider. Ringo, il cavaliere solitario.
"Come with me, please Kid!"
Bill Anderson (Armando Calvo) and his gang of ex-confederate soldiers terrorise the area of Springfield. So much so that the mayor decides to call in a secret Pinkerton agent. One man (Pietro Martellanza) takes an interest in the gang, especially the Kid (Paolo Hertz), and whilst he tries to follow them, comes across Daniel G. Samuelson (Piero Lulli), a drifter, who also seems to be interested in the gang.
Lulli offers up an interesting character, in this otherwise standard, though entertaining western.

lake of the dead (1958)

aka De dødes tjern. The Lake of the Damned.
"They say that everyone in the cabin will be possessed..."
Some friends travel to a remote cabin in the Norwegian forest, that has recently been bought by a relative. As they travel up Liljan (Henny Moan) acquaints them with legends about the lake, a murder, and ghosts, but whilst telling her friends these, she also reveals that she is uneasy for her brother, Bjørn (Per Lillo-Stenberg), who has been staying there, and has not replied to her letters to him...
Atmospheric and tense mystery: considered a classic of Norwegian cinema. One to watch on a dark and stormy night.

up the chastity belt (1971)

aka The Chastity Belt. Ned Sherrin's Production of Up the Chastity Belt.
"and they named me Lurkalot, as I do!"
The Queen of England gives birth to twins, one of whom, Lurkalot (Frankie Howerd), is left to die in the forest, the other becoming Richard the Lionheart. But Lurkalot does not die, and not knowing his ancestry becomes a servant for Sir Coward (Graham Crowden), selling chastity belts on the side. That is until Sir Braggart de Bombast (Bill Fraser) takes a fancy to Coward's daughter, Lobelia (Anne Aston), and Lurkalot undertakes to protect her, the castle and most of all himself from Sir Braggart.
Following the success of Up Pompei, they decide to prove the law of diminishing returns, by foisting this pile on the unsuspecting public.

humanoids from the deep (1980)

aka Beneath the Darkness. Monster. Humanoids of the Deep. Monster (Humanoids from the Deep).
"Perfect day right?"
A small fishing community is terrorised by a horrific mutation; a man/fish mutation, and its up to Jim Hill (Doug McClure) to sort out the mess. But what does scientist Dr. Susan Drake (Ann Turkel) know about the attacks and the creatures committing them.
Creature feature by numbers, but one with some great gore effects.

snow beast (2011)

"What we need to do is leave, first thing in the morning."
Scientist Jim Harwood (John Schneider) takes his surly teen daughter (Danielle Chuchran) and his team into the Canadian wilderness to study the wildcats of the region, but they seemed to have disappeared. Meanwhile park ranger Barry (Jason London) is wondering why there seems to be a correlation between disappearing tourists and sightings of strange creatures...
Predictable scripting and shonky special effects add up to a less than entertaining creature feature.

i am santana, trade your guns for a coffin (1970)

"It's a mistake to pay a man to commit murder for you."
Bounty hunter Sartana (George Hilton), witnesses a gold robbery, as he arrives in a new town, but is soon sidetracked helping a Mexican family imprisoned by a gang of bandits. Once dealt with Sartana can then turn his attention back to that of gold...but then Sabbath (Charles Southwood) rides into town...
By the numbers western, giving nothing new, but entertaining none the less.

"Confucius in your case wouldn't waste his breath!"
Sartana (Gianni Garko) witnesses a brutal massacre, and sets out to find out who is behind it, but he encounters resistance in the town, with even the sheriff (Luis Induni) under suspicion.
An average western, enlivened with the addition of a some comedic touches.

aka Una nuvola di polvere... un grido di morte... arriva Sartana. Cloud of Dust... Cry of Death... Sartana Is Coming. Gunman in Town. Run, Man, Run... Sartana's in Town.
"Hey look, here comes a preacher."
Sartana (Gianni Garko) arrives in a small town looking for a hidden fortune in gold and counterfeit money. Obviously he's not alone in this venture, with a bunch of others including Senora Manassas (Nieves Navarro), gunslinger Grand Full (Piero Lulli), and the vicious General Monk (José Jaspe) also on the hunt.
Plenty of twists and turns, conniving women and gunfights add up to a watchable western.

i am sartana your angel of death (1969)

aka Sono Sartana, il vostro becchino. Angel of Death: Sartana. Sartana the Gravedigger. I'll Dig Your Grave. I am Sartana, Your Grave Digger. I'm Sartana... I'll Dig Your Grave.
"Now a man should live up to his integrety in my opinion."
A gang, with one member disguised as Sartana, rob a bank. So obviously every bounty hunter and law man is on the hunt for the real Sartana (Gianni Garko), believing him involved. This leaves him only one choice, find the gang and clear his name.
Entertaining and light hearted western, featuring Klaus Kinski as a gambling addicted bounty hunter.

return of the living dead III (1993)

aka Return of the Living Dead 3. Battalion 3.
"You had an accident."
Army brat Curt (J. Trevor Edmond) defies his father, Colonel Reynolds (Kent McCord), when told they are moving cities again, and runs off with his girlfriend Mindy (Melinda Clarke). Unfortunately Julie is soon dead in a road accident and Curt breaks into his father's army instillation to revive her. The procedure works, but leaves her with a new found taste for brains...
A cheap rom-zom-com, that actually works despite itself.

son of dracula (1974)

aka Count Downe. Young Dracula.
"in a hundred years a case of great import will affect the house of Dracula."
Count Downe (Harry Neilson), the son of Dracula, is about to be crowned King of the Netherworld by his mentor Merlin (Ringo Starr). But Baron Frankenstein (Freddie Jones) s jealous and wants the title for himself. Complicating matters is the Count's increasing desire to become human, especially once he falls for Amber (Suzanna Leigh).
One way to waste some of Apple Corps. millions!

his name was holy ghost (1972)

aka Uomo avvisato mezzo ammazzato... Parola di Spirito Santo. Blazing Guns. They Call Him Holy Ghost.
"Well untie them. Haven't you seen a hero with a pidgeon before?"
As a general (Nello Pazzafini) tries to usurp power in a small South American country, a mysterious man in white (Gianni Garko) arrives in town looking for a gold mine that he has won in a game of poker.
Comedy and action make fine bed fellows in this breezy western.

a coffin full of dollars (1971)

aka Per una bara piena di dollari. Nevada Kid. Showdown for a Badman.
"Who is the owner of this watch?"
As a young man Hagan (Klaus Kinski) see's his brother gunned down, and vows revenge. Years later, he has become an outlaw determined to track down and kill the Nevada Kid (Jeff Cameron) and his family.
This film should have been buried!
